One bat has red eyes and can be damaged during this sequence but this is really the only time you will be able to heal. After hitting him a dozen or so times, he will explode into a bunch of bats, fly around for a few seconds, then reform and continue with his attacks. Like Grimm, a t 75%, 50%, and 25% remaining health, he will appear as a large orb in the center of the room and erupt fireballs that you must avoid. he will appear floating in the air and four columns of flame will track you before erupting from the ground.the tails of his cape appear as vertical columns that must be avoided (he is not present for this attack).he will appear and shoot out four fiery bats towards you.he will appear in the air, dive diagonally down towards you, then dash forward leaving a trail of flame behind him.Nightmare King Grimm is very similar to Troupe Master Grimm, but his attacks are considerably faster and hit for two masks of damage. Which is good, because this boss is by far the hardest you've faced up to this point. Since this is a Dream Boss, there is no penalty for death. Exit the tent and an achievement will unlock: A chest will also appear containing a charm notch. One bat has red eyes and can be damaged during this sequence.Īfter defeating him, he will upgrade the familiar and mark four new flames on the map. You can counterattack after all of his attacks- step/dash back to avoid his dash and attack him before he does the uppercut, jump over his diving attack and pogo him, jump/dash over the bats to get close and attack him, and avoid the upward burst of cape columns, then dash through them to get close enough to attack.Īt 75%, 50%, and 25% remaining health, he will appear as a large orb in the center of the room and erupt fireballs that you must avoid. he will appear and plunge the tails of his cape into the ground which then shoot up as vertical columns that must be avoided.he will appear and shoot out three fiery bats towards you. he will appear in the air, dive diagonally down towards you, then dash forward.he will appear, dash towards you, then do an uppercut into the air and release several projectiles.Once you have deciphered the Hunter's notes for each enemy in the journal, return to the Hunter in Greenpath: Although you may still need more kills of other enemies only found in the trials (like Shielded Fool and Sturdy Fool) depending on how many trial runs you made, so determine your best path to completing the Hunter's notes before continuing. If you hold off on this achievement until after you complete the four Pantheons, you won't have to run the Trial of the Conqueror again. BUT you also will fight two of them in the Pantheon of the Artist which we will have to complete later in the playthrough. NOTE: you will need to kill one more Oblobble to decipher the Hunter's notes and you only encounter them as the final boss of the Trial of the Conqueror. Some enemies will respawn when you leave and re-enter an area but most require resting at a bench to respawn. Again, use the Hollow Knight wiki to find locations of each enemy (just search enemies by name to get to their individual pages which show maps marking specific enemy locations). Your progress will be different than mine, so look through your journal and for every enemy that you must "defeat X more to decipher the Hunter's notes," seek them out in the world and kill them the required amount of times. Now is a good time to finish the entries in the Hunter's Journal. Whenever you rest at a bench, Salubra will show up and fill your soul meter. Record all of Hallownest's creatures in the Hunter's Journal Kill them to add their entry to the Hunter's Journal. Climb up and you will see two Royal Retainers. Jump to the left over some spikes, climb up to the top, and then exit up to the left. Jump up to a ledge on the left and ride a now active lift up. Hit it, then drop through a weak floor section to the left and make your way left to the previous screen. Kill it and continue right, then climb up and go back to the left to find a lever. When you are ready, head to the right and do some basic platforming to reach an exit to the right.Ĭontinue to the right and you will be locked in a room and forced to fight another Kingsmould. The two grub charms work together to grant a chunk of soul whenever you take damage and Deep Focus doubles your healing (but halves Focus speed). This area presents a difficult platforming challenge and little opportunity to regain soul for healing so equip Fragile Heart, Grubsong, Grubberfly's Elegy, and Deep Focus. Make your way to the right and you will see flying enemies that you can pogo off of to reach a ledge with a bench.
